Who We Are

Founded:

  • Established by the Georgia General Assembly at Milledgeville, Georgia on October 14, 1879
  • First classes began on January 19, 1880
  • Named changed to Georgia Military College on December 17, 1900

Identity:

  • Regionally accredited public-independent college
  • Global Online Leadership College that serves more than 4,000 fully online students
  • Residential, college-level, U.S. Army Senior ROTC program serving 254 students
  • The Military Junior College of Georgia and one of only four Military Junior Colleges in the nation
  • Selected college students become U.S. Army commissioned officers in two years
  • Eight satellite locations throughout Georgia

Character & Leadership Development:

  • Distinguished Order of the Servant Leader medal – Recognizes 100 hours of community service. 170 awards presented since 2015.
  • Ethics & Leadership integrated throughout college courses of study
  • Character & Leadership programs focus on critical thinking, character development, civic duty, and student success

College Admissions:

  • Open admissions = Only a high school diploma or GED is required for admission

  • Four players earned 2016 NJCAA All-American Honors and had 6 active alums in professional football in 2016
